Q & A

Here are some commonly asked questions by fellow customers:

Q: Why are you called South Fork Springers?

A: We live near the Big South Fork National Recreation Area. It is full of waterfalls, hiking trails, and beautiful overlooks- the perfect Springer playground.

Q: Why do you mix the types of springers?

A: We believe that when we mix the types of springers we can give you the best family dog. We like a smaller dog for cuddling that also loves to play (field), with a calmer temperament and gorgeous looks (bench), and lots of color options and ticking (European).

Q: Where are you located?

A: We are located in Oneida, TN, which is less than 10 miles from the Kentucky border.

1 hour North of Knoxville

2.5 hours East of Nashville

2 hours South of Louisville, KY

4.25 hours North of Atlanta.

Q: Can I come visit the puppies?

A: We would love to have you visit the puppies! The parents are on site so we would love to set up a meeting so you can meet the parents and us. We do ask that you respect our privacy, as this is our home, and make an appointment first though.

Q: How old does the puppy have to be before I can pick him/her up?

A: Puppies are ready to leave at 8 weeks of age. We expect you to contact us to arrange a pick-up time by the time they are 8 weeks of age. If you fail to contact us and we are not able to reach you within 48 hours the puppy will go back up for sale and your deposit will be forfeited.

Q: Do you ship your puppies?

A: We currently do not ship our puppies. We like meeting the future owners of our puppies. It is something we may consider in the future. We do consider delivering/meeting part way for $1.50 a loaded mile (while puppy is in the car) if scheduling allows. The puppy and transportation fee must be paid in full first.

Q: What should I do if I would like to get a puppies from you?

A: First send me a message in whatever way is most convenient for you. I will then give you a link to our puppy application on Good Dog. If everything looks good I will approve you to our waiting list. As soon as the puppies arrive, I will let you know and begin allowing people to pick in order of their position on the waitlist. If all the puppies are spoken for before we reach you on the list, I will let you know and you will be given the option to be taken off the waiting list or remain on for future litters.

Q: How can I send you the money for a deposit?

A: You can always put it down in cash in person if you would like to visit the dogs first. Otherwise it can also be sent by mailing a check (assuming it has time to clear before the puppy is picked up), money order, Venmo, through PayPal (friends and family), or through Good Dog Payments. Buyer is responsible for any fees.

Q: I have a puppy reserved, but I changed my mind. Now what?

A: If you have already chosen your puppy and just want to switch to a different puppy in this same litter that is available, let me know. There is a $25 fee for this to cover the extra work updating all the advertising.

If for some reason you no longer wish to get any puppy from us at this time, please realize the deposit is not refundable. We really appreciate knowing as soon as possible to give us ample time to find a suitable new home for him/her. Those who communicate in a timely and polite fashion may possibly have their deposit moved to a future litter if desired.

Q: Why is a larger deposit required if I don’t want the dewclaws removed or tail docked?

A: The majority of our clients want those procedures done so those puppies can be in higher demand. If they are not done by three days of age, it will be too late to do it later. The cost of the puppy will remain the same, but we just want a bigger percentage up front in case the buyer backs out.

Q: I called you and you didn’t answer – what should I do?

A: The best and fastest way to contact me is through text. If you call and I don’t answer please leave a message or send a text. I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Q: What should I expect when I pickup my puppy?

A: I would plan for about a half an hour. You will likely be greeted by our dogs before you even enter the door. We will introduce you to your new family member and go over all of the paperwork and any information you might need to know. Please ask any questions that you have. Then you will be on your way with the newest member of your family.

Q: Do you want us to keep you updated on our puppy?

Yes, Yes, Yes! All the puppies we raise have a special place in our heart. One of our highlights of being a breeder is seeing our puppies all grown up in good homes. We never get tired of seeing pictures of our former puppies or getting referrals. We also want to be there for you during all stages, so if you have any questions or concerns, we are here to help with those too.
